What to expect: This hotel is formal and upscale, with easy access to the ocean and South Beach attractions. The hotel rooms, converted from apartments, are unusually large for Miami Beach--even the smallest tops 600 square feet. All rooms have kitchenettes with microwaves. The clientele is a mix of U.S. and international travelers, with 80 percent vacationers and 20 percent business travelers. Amenity highlights: The hotel has four restaurants, including a sushi bar. The 10,000-square-foot fitness center offers a full range of equipment and a variety of classes, including aerobics, spin, and yoga. The outdoor pool area is lushly landscaped and overlooks the wide stretch of beach in front of the hotel. Guestrooms are outfitted with blond-wood furniture hand-made in France. Insider tip: Despite the Roney’s poolside comforts, guests should also venture onto the wide stretch of beach adjacent to the hotel. The water is warm almost year-round. While the sand is soft on most of the beach, near the buildings it is hard-packed and perfect for jogging or walking. There’s also a popular boardwalk with benches that’s great for strolling or people-watching day and night.

Larry North Fitness Center, the resort’s 10,000-square-foot health club, has indoor and outdoor workout areas overlooking the ocean. Guests work out using a full range of circuit machines, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment. Scheduled classes include yoga, aerobics, and step. Guests can also schedule massages through the health club (fees). An infinity-edge pool on the fourth-floor terrace of the hotel overlooks the ocean and features a very large pool deck furnished with cushioned lounge chairs. A pool concierge provides towels, board games, playing cards, and reading material. The hotel is located on 600 feet of private beach. Roney Palace beach chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas are available to guests, and a dedicated beach concierge provides cold facial towels every three hours, aloe vera gel, fresh cut fruit, newspapers and magazines, and board games. The hotel offers 20,000 square feet of meeting facilities, including boardrooms and a 6,500-square-foot ballroom.

Please note: This hotel will be undergoing a renovation beginning September 26, 2003. All hotel facilities will be operational during the renovation, with the exception of the south condominium pool. The hotel's main pool will remain open during this time. Construction will take place only on weekdays, from 8 AM to 6 PM. The hotel’s interior public areas, corridors, guestrooms/views, lobby, restaurant, and lounges will not be affected by the construction. The hotel management anticipates minimal guest disturbances, with the exception of peripheral noise from the south side of the hotel, where construction will take place on the condominium tower. All guests must present a valid credit card at check in. Must be 21 or older to check-in.
