Pao - The contemporary glass-enclosed dining room provides an interesting contrast with the classic Chinese cuisine served in this high-end restaurant. Guests may dine indoors or in the outdoor cabana-banquette dining area. The restaurant is adjacent to the pool, and attracts a well-heeled crowd—past diners include Cher, Anne Bancroft, and Gloria Estefan. Barbecued Pork Spareribs, Crab Rangoon, and Hot and Sour Snapper are among the favorite dishes. Dinner and bar menus are available until 2 AM.

This Art Deco–style hotel was originally built in 1930, and it re-opened in spring of 2003 in its newest incarnation after a multimillion-dollar renovation. The quirkily suggestive design-theme of a laced-up corset can be seen throughout the hotel on the backs of chairs and couches. And the purple-drenched lobby contains a mod lounge, complete with curvy chairs and a circular couch. The hotel has two outdoor pools, one of which is a jetted wave pool for exercising, as well as a spa tub and a rooftop sun conservatory. Complimentary drinks are available nightly at the pool lounge. Spa services such as massage and pedicures are offered, and the 24-hour fitness center includes free weights and Nautilus gym equipment. Pao, the on-site restaurant, draws a crowd; while clubs, beaches, and boutiques are all within blocks.

The 24-hour fitness center includes free weights and Nautilus gym equipment. There are six golf courses in Miami-Dade County. One of them, Crandon Park Golf Course on Key Biscayne, is generally considered the best public course in Florida. The area also has numerous tennis courts. Almost anything that floats is available for rent: kayaks, windsurfers, boogie boards, catamarans, sailboats, and Jet Skis. Scuba gear is also available for rent. Lummus Park and the closest public beach are 2 blocks from the hotel; the section of beach between 6th and 14th Streets is called Glitter Beach due to the beautiful people that frequent it.
