AMENITIES & SERVICES
What to expect: Touches of the original post-war building—terrazzo floors, coved ceiling, recessed lighting—complement the gallery-white walls of the Sagamore's lobby. On display are selections from the hotel's large art collection. Much of the lobby furniture is from the original building, but has been reupholstered with modern fabrics; the lobby was reconfigured to give guests a glimpse of the ocean at the back of the property. A jet-setting clientele comes for the privacy and service; couples find the large, comfortable rooms ideal for romantic getaways. Amenity highlights: Guests may relax with coffee and the morning paper in the hotel's library, where a selection of art books and magazines is also available. The pool area features an L-shaped pool with waterfall edges, a bar serving drinks and light snacks, and a tent where guests can receive massages and facials. Clothing-optional sunbathing is available on a terraced area. Guests may make an appointment to have the hotel's curator give them a personal tour of the art in the hotel's public spaces. Insider tip: For cheap and easy transportation around South Beach, guests can catch the city's electric shuttle 1 block from the hotel.
Guests at the Sagamore who can tear themselves away from the luxurious suites can get a massage poolside or lounge on the beach, where hotel staff keeps them supplied with fresh towels and drinks. A concierge books restaurant reservations and gets guests on any club VIP list. Complimentary high-speed Internet access is available anywhere in the hotel.
